Co-authoring now becomes the default action when opening documents for editing.
You can open a document in co-authoring by either double-clicking it or opening the context menu and choosing “edit”.
Documents can now be co-authored from start to finish using Microsoft 365 desktop applications, taking full advantage of their rich features.
If needed, the documents can still be checked-out if you need to reserve them only for yourself, and opened in read mode.

During co-authoring, you can see your colleagues’ edits in real time, which ensures transparency.

The edits can also be seen live in the document preview in M-Files interface.

Desktop co-authoring in M-Files makes editing documents together with your colleagues easier, ensures transparency and compliance, and makes sure the information is up to date without any unnecessary steps.
Note that the feature is only available in the new M-Files Desktop and M-Files Web.
Access to M-Files desktop co-authoring requires M-Files Business Platform edition for M-Files Cloud customers, as well as configuration from your administrator.
